We run a wide rage of upholstery classes from 5 week courses to day workshops. We hope you find something that will inspire you.
5 Week Upholstery Class
Learn a new skill by upholstering a piece of your own furniture in a fun relaxed environment. We run these classes weekly during term time and classes are booked in blocks of five sessions of three hours each, giving a total of 15 hours per course block. Gathered Lampshade Course
During this course you will learn how to create your own stunning gathered lampshade. Working on the frame provided you will learn how to bind the frame, measure and hand stitch the fabric into place. You will be shown how trim your shade to give a lovely professional finish.
Box Cushion Workshop
The skill of creating a box cushion is an essential part of upholstery and once mastered it can be adapted for any chair, window seat or bench for your home or garden.
On our one-day course, you will be taught how to make and attach piping, how to insert a zip and create a professional finish to your box cushion. You will leave with your sample cushion and the confidence to create beautiful, bespoke box cushions.
You will need basic hand and machine sewing skills and an understanding of your sewing machine.
On the day, you should bring with you a packed lunch and drink, your sewing machine and a neutral sewing thread. All other materials are provided.

Footstool Workshop
This workshop is a perfect introduction to upholstery. During this one day course, you will be provided with all the materials and tuition needed to create your own beautiful bespoke footstool. All you are required to bring is a meter of your own fabric. Working on a craftsman made frame, you will be guided through the process, step by step, learning many valuable techniques that you can take through to other projects in the future.

Introduction to Traditional Upholstery
On our one day traditional upholstery course you will learn the skills and methods needed to upholster traditional furniture. These basic skills are the basis for all traditional upholstery and are a great foundation to build on for more advanced upholstery and future projects. Using a craftsman made frame, you will learn how to web, add stuffing, create a stitched edge and attach your top covering. Our bespoke frames have been created so you can easily add legs and turn your sample into a beautiful footstool. Turned Pine legs can be purchased from us on the day if you wish.
All materials to create your frame are provided, all you need is 50x50cm of an upholstery fabric of your choice for your top covering.
Please do bring your own drinks and a packed lunch.

Deep Button Footstool Workshop
This is a two day workshop during which you will learn the beautiful and traditional technique of deep buttoning on your own footstool. You will be taken step by step through the process enabling you to create a lovely bespoke piece of furniture.You will be provided with a craftsman made frame (including tulip legs as shown in picture) and all the materials, notes and tuition needed to complete your footstool. Lampshade Workshop
During this workshop, you will learn how to create your own stunning 30cm diameter drum lampshade. All the materials you will need are provided, the only thing you're required to bring is a piece of your own fabric. Size of fabric required: minimum 97cm wide x 25.5 cm long. Mini Lampshade Lights
During this workshop, you will create your own fabulous string of mini lightshades using an array of vintage and vintage inspired fabrics and trims. All the materials you will need are provided to make a 10 lights string.

Christmas Mini Lampshade Lights
During this workshop, you will create your own fabulous string of mini festive lightshades using an array of vintage and vintage inspired fabrics and trims. All the materials you will need are provided to make a 10 light string.
